I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list
Islands
As the pedants will undoubtedly point out the United Kingdom is already an island itself, this section is about the smaller islands and there are 6,289 islands. most of them in Scotland.
Of these 123 are permanently inhabited. The largest of the islands is terms of area is Lewis and Harris, in the Western Isles with the smallest being St Agnes and Bryher in the Scilly Isles.
ORKNEY
Orkney is a cluster of some 70 islands, of which 20 are inhabited, 6.2 miles (10 kilometres) off the north coast of Scotland.
SKOMER
Normally an island measuring just 2 miles my 1½ miles wouldn’t even warrant a second glance but Skomer is a wildlife haven.
The island is home to the largest colony of Manx shearwaters in the world but it’s the colony of puffins, the largest in the southern United Kingdom, which draws visitors in their thousands.
