I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list

London

London is the primary tourist destination in the United Kingdom, attracting some 19 million overseas visitors each year.

London has the reputation of being expensive, however there are plenty of free attractions as well. I'll be looking at both.

London is also a great city for walking, so I'll be sharing some of my favourite walks.

There is alsoa guide to getting around the city.

LONDON FOR FREE

Before any pedants start complaining, I know it is impossible for anything to be absolutely free. If you do not live in London you will need to get there and you will need somewhere to stay. So this guide assumes you are already in London and have sorted out where to stay.

PAID ATTRACTIONS

London has far too many paid attractions to list them all here, so I’ve included some of my favourites and a couple best avoided.

WALKING

Although London has an excellent public transport network it is also a great city to explore on foot.

Central London is relatively flat and is generally safe, even at night as long as you stick to the touristy areas.

GETTING AROUND

Central London, where most of the major attractions can be found, is relatively compact so a reasonably fit person could easily get around on foot.

However there are times when it is a need to use public transport.

LOCKDOWN LONDON

When COVID-19 hit, London shut down, shops closed and visitors stayed away, leaving the bustling metropolis eerily quiet.

Adhering to Government guidelines we visit London as you've never seen it before
